Urban Farmers often snip and shake the fruit of fall into a colander rather the hand pluck each golden gem from the stem. The return of 9 months is so much faster as I ready the tiny urban farm for #SowSeedSunday.
The night before, I separated three varieties of garlic into cloves and soaked them over night in cinnamon to stimulate root growth. It has been very dry in Indiana with a rainbow rain on Friday so I have choose to infuse water into the raised bed.
Draining the garlic but applying the cinnamon water directly onto the soil, I prepare for planting the clove root side down. The goal is to establish the spring crop now while the weather is warm, giving this winter bulb a chance during the frigid temperatures of Indiana’s winters.
